Way Station invites the community to its 3rd Annual Friend Raiser, an unforgettable evening of music and connection featuring acclaimed performers Heather Masse and Jed Wilson in concert on Saturday, August 22, at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center in Fryeburg, Maine.

The event is free to attend, with a suggested minimum donation of $50 per person. Advance ticket reservations are required.

Presented by Way Station, this special benefit concert will raise awareness and support for the organization’s mission to provide safe, welcoming spaces and critical services for individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in the Mount Washington Valley.

Heather Masse, a beloved local talent turned international star with The Wailin’ Jennys, has captivated audiences around the world with her stunning voice and heartfelt performances. Joining her is acclaimed pianist and composer Jed Wilson. Together, the duo brings more than 20 years of musical collaboration rooted in jazz, folk, creativity, and friendship.

“There’s nothing quite like hearing these two incredible artists perform together,” organizers shared. “Their chemistry and artistry make this a truly special musical homecoming.”

Way Station is also proud to announce that Valley Originals has become the event’s first Housing Sponsor with a generous $2,500 donation.

“The Valley Originals, a group of locally owned and operated restaurants in the Mount Washington Valley community, is proud to continue supporting our neighbors in need. The Way Station shares that same mission — providing support and resources to community members facing hardship.  Thanks to the generosity of our guests and customers, the Valley Originals is fortunate to donate $2,500 once again this year to the Way Station.  We have witnessed firsthand the incredible work and positive impact the Way Station has made over the years, and we are deeply grateful for the essential services they provide to our community. Our hope is that one day these services will no longer be needed. Until then, we are honored to support the Way Station and all they do.” Genn Anzaldi for The Valley Originals.

This year’s sponsorship campaign reflects Way Station’s evolving strategic plan. Formerly centered around H.O.P.E. — Housing, Operations, Poverty Mitigation, and Economic Stabilization — the organization has transitioned to H.O.M.E., replacing “Poverty Mitigation” with “Mobile Outreach Rural Services.”

This expanded outreach initiative brings Way Station services beyond its 17 Grove Street location in North Conway and into communities throughout Carroll County, where support is urgently needed.

Varsity Beverage has also committed $2500 as a Housing sponsor along with Eastern Slope Dental.  Other sponsors include Meredith Village Savings Bank, Chalmers Insurance, NH Electric Coop, Badger Peabody & Smith, Eastern Propane & Oil, Kate MacPhee, Lupine Pet, Pinkham Real Estate, Bergeron Technical Services, Big Dave’s Bagels & Deli, Cooper Cargill Chant, Daves Gourmet Kettle Corn and Lemonades, Gamwell, Caputo, and Kelsch, Flatbread, Huggins Hospital.  Many thanks to the support of the business community.
