Reserve your Ticket to August 24th Cold River Radio Show! This show will benefit the Way Station.

The Cold River Radio Show is excited to announce a special event on August 24 at 7 PM at the Majestic Theater in Conway, New Hampshire, partnering with Way Station, a Mount Washington Valley non-profit dedicated to assisting the housing-insecure in Carroll County.

This vibrant evening of music, storytelling, and community will raise funds and awareness for Way Station’s mission to provide safe housing and essential support services to those in need across the region.

The show features an incredible lineup, which includes Maine Indie-Folk Artist Griffin Sherry and his band. Griffin, a nationally touring, performing, and recording artist and founding member of the acclaimed indie-folk group The Ghost of Paul Revere, brings his soulful voice and introspective songwriting to the stage. Known for his raw, heartfelt, and intense performances and a sound which blends Americana with modern folk, Griffin has toured extensively, earning praise for his ability to connect with audiences through songs with stories of the human experience. His recent solo work showcases a fresh evolution, with powerful melodies and a dynamic band that elevates every song.

A Cold River Radio favorite, Cassandre McKinley, returns to join this incredible lineup with her rich, soul-stirring jazz vocals. A Boston-based artist with a career spanning decades, Cassandre’s voice is often compared to the likes of Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday, blending sophistication with raw emotion. Dubbed “Boston’s Queen of Soul Jazz” by the Boston Globe, Cassandre’s performances weave jazz, soul, blues, and pop mellifluously and masterfully. Her shows cover a broad range of music and often include highlights from her acclaimed albums like “Dragon Fly” and “Til Tomorrow”. Whether delivering a standard, a pop song, or an original piece, Cassandre’s stage presence is magnetic, leaving audiences spellbound.

Special guest storyteller Thom Pollard, co-host of the new segment Within the Zone, will share tales inspired by his remarkable adventures. An explorer and filmmaker who has contributed to National Geographic projects, Tom has spent years documenting the natural world and human resilience, including his involvement in the Mount Everest community. His storytelling blends vivid accounts of high-altitude expeditions with reflections on the human spirit, delivered with a warmth and authenticity that captivates listeners. Tom’s experiences bring a unique perspective, connecting the rugged landscapes of the world to the local stories of the Mount Washington Valley.

The event also includes author Jennifer Chisholm, Executive Director for NH Coalition to End Homelessness and Gretchen Bean, President of the Board of Directors, and Clinical Associate Professor In the Social Work Dept at UNH, sharing insights from her thought-provoking work addressing rural homelessness (Chisholm and Bean will be giving a free pre-event talk at 5:30 pm), and the Mount Washington Moment with Dr. Peter Crane, a brief tale taken from the archives of the great mountain’s history.

Hosted by Jonathan Sarty and the Cold River Radio Band, this show delivers high-energy performances and meaningful content, and community-building connections. “We’re honored to partner with Way Station to support their vital work in addressing rural homelessness,” said Jonathan Sarty, host of Cold River Radio Show. “This night of music and stories is a celebration of community and a call to action for a critical cause.” Join us for an unforgettable evening and help make a difference.

Jonathan Sarty is founder, host, and producer of the Cold River Radio Show, as well as the leader of the Jonathan Sarty Band, the White Mountain Boys, and the recently created exciting homage to Classic American Country he calls “The Nashville Revue/Jonathan Sarty and the New Country Gentlemen”, a show which has been well received, with sold out performances at theatres throughout Maine and New Hampshire.
