Sun, Apr 7 @ 4pm: BENNETT & PERKINS in CONCERT to PROVIDE SUPPORT for VALLEY’s HOMELESS POPULATION

Jackson, NH — Join us at 4pm on Sunday, April 7 for a ‘Second Chances’ concert at Jackson Community Church. Featuring original music by Thom Perkins and Kathy Bennett with Taylor Whiteside. We gratefully accept donations ; suggested contributions of $15/pp or $25/family at the door.

This concert benefits the Way Station, a new day resource center opening in the Mt Washington Valley to serve the local housing-insecure and homeless population. The Way Station is hosted on the campus of Nativity Lutheran Church as a collaboration supported by several nonprofits and faith communities. Although the Way Station cannot provide overnight housing, it addresses many of the basic needs of the valley's housing insecure and homeless population: access to free showers, laundry, internet access, post office box, storage lockers. It also makes connections to other local agencies and resources and provides emotional and social support. For more info, contact us by email: waystationnh@gmail.com.

For more information about this concert, visit www.jacksoncommunitychurch.org or call Rev Gail Doktor (978) 273.0308.

About the performing artists: From the mountains of northern New Hampshire comes the unique blend of harmonies and guitars of Kathy Bennett and Thom Perkins. They perform songs with stories and music inspired by everyday lives, about lost loves, lost lives and real life adventure, coupled with haunting harmonies and memorable arrangement of vocals and guitar. Their music is a regular feature on New Hampshire Public Radio Folk Show and Maine’s folk radio standard WERU. They have performed on the stages of The Cold River Radio Show, Ossipee Valley Music Festival, The Medallion Opera House, Acoustic Artisans, The Flying Monkey Performance Center, Cambridge’s famed Passim’s, and Stone Mountain Arts Center.

Backing up Bennett & Perkins is Taylor Whiteside, a favorite of New England audiences for many years. He was a member of the popular Northeast Winds and The Brandywine Singers before developing a reputation as a solo artist and a fine songwriter in his own right. A talented musician, he has an impressive command of many instruments, including guitar, mandolin, fiddle and accordion.

The three together offer a powerhouse of folk, sure to resonate on both a physical and emotional level. Bennett & Perkins can be found at www.bennettandperkins.com, Facebook and You Tube. Stream their music on Pandora – Bennett and Perkins channel.
